Design For A Fairer World
Danusha is a not-for-profit organisation. We work with women affected by leprosy in Nepal to bring you beautiful, ethically made jewellery.
Danusha make and supply unique, handcrafted jewellery to the UK market. Each piece is made in Nepal from locally sourced raw materials, including semi-precious stones, freshwater pearls and man-made beads. We produce around 12 new designs each year, each one reflecting the Asian context in which it’s made.
Offering a fair wage and decent working conditions is important to us. A decision to buy a piece of Danusha jewellery has a positive impact on people in Nepal.
We work in partnership with Nepal Leprosy Trust providing training in jewellery making. This enables women to learn new skills and make a living, thereby raising their status within their communities.
Our jewellery is available from Gateway World Shop Durham and the Fair Traders’ Cooperative in Holmfirth. We also sell at craft fairs and through private parties.
If you’d like to host a party or to talk to us about buying wholesale please contact us and we’ll make it happen.
